Liccione kept a journal from his childhood on the way up into his teen years. It gave him a sense of comfort after the loss of his mother at a young age-- to gather his thoughts and feelings and write them on paper. In his early twenties he met rapper/writer Brian Parker, who introduced him and encouraged him to write poetry.
